It has been a largely dry and sunny week in Zermatt with the snow, which lies 110cm deep up at the top of the slopes and 10cm deep in town, reported to now be hard packed.

But the weather is changing and the rest of the week is expected to be snowy with 5-15cm of new snow daily and perhaps 40-50cm of fresh snow lying by the end of the weekend.
The region reports only a third of the 360km of runs open though (121km) and about half of the 52 lifts operating, so hopefully the new sow will allow more terrain to open.
