Although Lego have confirmed they are going to be selling a Lego City model ski resort from next month, the Lego jury is still out on whether they’ll create a high-spec 3,000 piece replica of a piste basher that has been proposed by Tyrolian firm Prinoth.

Anyone can put forward a Lego set plan on the company’s ‘Ideas’ forum, but proposals need to get 10,000 registered ‘Likes’ before the company will agree to produce it.

So far the plan to build a fully working model Leitwolf, Prinoth’s top of the range snow-groomer is nearly half-way there, but time is running out.

The project, first announced in February last year, would normally be allowed 12 months to get enough support, but the popularity of the proposal so far led to Lego giving the project a six-month extension, but the 10,000 must be reached by the end of October.

The model is fully remote-controlled, and all the functionalities of the real model are working thanks to it incorporating nine motors, four remote control units and two battery packs.
