It may now be the start of Spring but it’s looking like the last few days of March are going to be snowy in the French Alps.
The forecast for the week ahead is still evolving but it’s looking like the snowfall will intensify as the week goes on with up to 15cm (6 inches) forecast on Tuesday and up to 45cm (18 inches) expected on Wednesday.

Its possible base depths will reach the 5m mark on higher slopes by Thursday at resorts like Avoriaz, Flaine and La Rosiere, which currently has bases of 4.6 to 4.8m
So conditions are looking excellent for Easter and later April skiing in the French Alps, whilst the French Pyrenees have also had fresh snowfall in the past week and are looking good too.
