Austria has a slightly different season to the other big four alpine ski nations. The vast majority of Austrian ski areas close by mid-April, many will close by the 8th.
But then a few dozen areas do stay open to the end of April and by mid-May there’ll be more Austrian glacier areas open than any other country offers.
Here Comes the Sun… Enjoy the Day, the weather is fantastic!

In either case it is looking like an epic April in Austria with more snow forecast to fall over the last few days of March and into the Easter weekend. Infact it’s already falling, heavier in the west of the country with 5-20cm of new snow reported so far and similar amounts expected through the remainder of this week.
The fresh snow is falling on already deep bases with most major Austrian resorts having at least 2m lying, some of the high glaciers (and St Anton) over 2m.
