It has been an often snowy week in Switzerland with up to 50cm of fresh snowfall reported in the past few days alone – Gstaad claiming the biggest today. At other times its been sunny and there have been cloudy but dry days too.
Snow depths remain very good and in some cases they’re getting deeper still – particularly at altitude, even with spring around the corner.

Engelberg had boasted the deepest snow in the world for most of this season at more than 2w0 feet up top but last week it was overtaken by Mt Baker in Washington state in the US. This week though its back on top with its base depth up 45cm to 655cm (almost 22 feet). 20 cm of snow fell in that last 72 hours there.
The week ahead looks like more of the same with more snow forecast up to the weekend at least across Switzerland.
