The end of the season has already arrived for some French resorts but for those that are still open there’s fresh snow with as much as 80cm of new cover expected on the slopes by the weekend.
Not that any really need it – bases are the deepest they’ve been for decades in many cases – but still, fresh snow is always nice.
This was La Plagne at the end of last week, with more sow now falling.
More than 50 of the leading resorts in France will stay open another week to the 21st or 22nd and about 10 to the every end of April or in to May. Tignes, Val Thorens and Val d’Isere are open in to the start of May.
