About a third of Austrian ski areas have closed for the season and many more will do so this weekend.
But over a dozen should make it to the end of the month and half of them in to May and June, thanks to Austria’s big selection of glacier ski areas and all the snowfall build up on top of them this season.

Some Austrian ski areas may get more snow this week too, although probably just an inch or two at most.
Not that they need it, St Anton has one of the world’s deepest bases at 5.1m (17 feet) for example and many other Austrian areas have some of the deepest snow levels they’ve seen for decades.
