Paradiski (the French ski area comprising Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry and la Plagne) has unveiled an artistic make over of its iconic Vanoise Express double-decker cable car in celebration of its ten years in operation, making Paradiski possible.
The fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac was commissioned to decorate the cable car cabins, giving him carte blanche for his design, which was unveiled this week at a 10 year anniversary party at the Musée Grévin, Paris.
Jean-Charles described his work with the following translated phrases, “Go dreaming on a wire. The wonder of a white dawn. Reincarnate as a bird on a branch. At the heart of the subtle valleys. Dance, beauty, magical nature. Flying from one side to the other. A sensual cable car. Cool, space-powder snow. Invite the angel to fly.”
The lift will re-open for use from 21st December.
