9–22 January 2020 – Youth Olympic Games 2020 Champéry
Twenty-six years after becoming the Olympic Capital, Lausanne will host of the 3rd edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games. With some young athletes ages 15 to 18 coming from over 200 countries worldwide, it’s sure to be a huge event and Champéry is proud to be hosting the curling competitions!
11–18 January 2020 – Belalp Hexe (“Witches’ Race”, skiing) Belalp
One of Switzerland’s most unique and unusual downhill races brings the crowds to the sunny terraces of Valais each January. Skiers dress up as witches in terrifying masks and race down the slopes until they reach the finishing line in Blatten.
22–23 February 2020 – Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup Crans-Montana
Watch the world’s best skiers take on the spectacular Mont Lachaux downhill run. High excitement and suspense are guaranteed, with Crans-Montana putting on a fantastic show, with a great atmosphere.
March 2020 – Audi FIS Ski Cross & Snowboard Cross World Cup Finals Veysonnaz
Since the 2018-2019 season, Ski Cross and Snowboard Cross have been working together for the final stage of the World Cup. Accustomed to hosting the final stage of the Snowboard Cross World Cup, Veysonnaz and its legendary ‘Piste de l’Ours’ will once again be the playground for the best athletes on the circuit.
13–25 March 2020 – Nendaz Freeride Nendaz
The Nendaz Freeride Elite is the most renowned event of the Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ). The spectacular face of the Mont-Gond offers athletes an almost infinitive number of lines. This event also offers a incredible atmosphere and attracts many international participants searching for adrenaline.
28 March–5 April 2020 Xtreme Verbier Verbier
Every year, Verbier hosts the final of the Freeride World Tour as part of the Xtreme event. After touring the planet, the world’s best freeriders come together for the final round of the competition on the legendary “Bec des Rosses”.

27 April–3 May 2020 – Patrouille des Glaciers Zermatt-Arolla-Verbier
The Patrouille des Glaciers (PDG) is an international ski mountaineering race organised by the Swiss Armed Forces in which military and civilian teams compete. The “toughest team competition in the world” takes the patrols of 3 over 112 kilometres from Zermatt via Arolla to Verbier
