6 RESORTS, ONE “REGION”

The Region Dents du Midi encompasses 6 charming villages nestled high in the Swiss Alps near the south eastern end of Lake Geneva. Aligned along the spectacular Val d’Illiez, these villages form the Swiss half of Les Portes du Soleil, the world’s largest international ski area, offering over 800 square kilometres of natural beauty year round.

Non-Skiing Activities

150 km of snowshoe trails explore silent winter landscapes far from the madding crowds, and this is just the start. Non-skiers here can choose from a wealth of winter sports, from cross-country skiing to ski touring, with a little of sledging, ice climbing, invigorating winter hikes, curling, ski joring, husky touring and ice skating thrown in for good measure!

Getting There

No matter where you are, you’re just a hop and a skip from the Region Dents du Midi. By car, the Val d’Illiez is just 15 minutes from the St-Triphon exit off the A9 motorway.

By train, the emblematic Swiss Federal Railways (CFF/SBB) provide fast, efficient connections from Geneva and Sion airports and major European cities via Lausanne or Brig to the nearby town of Aigle. From Aigle, the panoramic AOMC cog-wheel train wends its way up the Val d’Illiez and straight into the heart of Region Dents du Midi.
