The world’s greatest ski lift to the magnificent Dolomite mountains is better than ever this winter. For winter 24-25, there will be up to three flights a week to choose from, up from the previous two.
The brilliant service from Italian boutique airline SkyAlps offers a shortcut to the Dolomites, getting you to the slopes quicker and with style.
The airline offers direct flights from London Gatwick to the small city of Bolzano in Italy, right next to some of the world’s great ski areas including the famous Dolomiti Superski region, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, with its incredible 1,200km of slopes including the fabulous Sellaronda.

This unique shortcut to the Dolomites, cuts some transfer times from other airports, such as Innsbruck or Venice, almost in half.
After the service’s success last winter, skiers and snowboarders will be delighted to hear that the Gatwick to Bolzano route will operate up to three times a week in each direction this winter, an increase on the previous twice weekly flights. This season there’ll be a service on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, making the option of a short break or travelling on a quieter mid-week day, an option.

Your holiday begins as soon as you board your SkyAlps flight in London and know that it’s just a two-hour flight to Bolzano Airport and from there transfers to many of Italy’s top resorts will be measured in minutes rather than hours. What’s more, Bolzano is a small, uncrowded airport so you can fly through security and baggage reclaim and be on to your transfer within minutes. Unlike at some of the big ski hub airports we won’t mention.

Of course, if you’re not in a hurry and want to enjoy la dolce vita as soon as you arrive, you might want to stop first in the beautiful city itself to do some shopping, go sightseeing or indulge in a gourmet restaurant. Another beautiful small city to visit in the closest surroundings, Merano, is just minutes away too.
SkyAlps ticket prices start at 184 euros per person and flights with children aged between 2 and 11 years of age are able to travel at a reduced fare (30% discount) whilst the youngest children aged under two travel free. Sports equipment, including skis or snowboards, can be carried at a cost of 55 euros per flight if you want to bring your own gear along.
