Tickets to The AfterJAM are the most sought after in the scene right now. 2nd February 2019 will mark only the second time this annual dry slope competition has occurred, yet it has already generated a huge buzz, with this year’s tickets selling out in record time. Created by British snow sports brand AfterJam, this event combines ski racing, freestyle and après-ski for the ultimate one-of-a-kind event.
The AfterJAM 2019 sees the event return to Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre, with open competition and jam sessions throughout the day and a huge afterparty in the evening. The day’s events will see both freestyle and racing events, topped off with an epic new look final. The airbag (a definite crowd favourite last year) will be integrated into the early rounds of the freestyle comp, where both grassroots shredders, uni sportspeople and UK skiers will go head to head.
Throughout the day, slopeside DJs will be in attendance to keep spectators entertained and bars up on the hill will be supplying drinks in the fresh air – you’ll feel just like you’re back at your favourite mountain après spot!
Over 20 university snowsports groups are preparing to head down to the event, and with hundreds of people on the waiting list, the demand for this event has been unprecedented.
It’s not just the students snow sports scene getting involved though; professional riders and members of GB Park + Pipe are also going to be competing, providing an opportunity for students and other grassroots riders to test their skills against some of the best in the game!
After the event’s debut last year, the after party has become notorious. Bringing in a headline DJ and converting the bootroom into a dance floor, AfterJam make sure the crowd stay entertained. Last year, DJ Hazard sent the crowds wild, and this year, UK bassline pioneer Darkzy is headlining the après.
What’s more, prize giveaways will be occurring all throughout the day, and some big bundles of goodies are in store for the podium spots.
