South Tyrol’s popular Gourmet Ski Safari ‘A Taste for Skiing’ is back in the Alta Badia region, famed for its culinary culture, for the 2016/17 season, starting on 11 December.

This culinary event involves no less than 14 Michelin starred chefs taking up residence in huts in the Alta Badia ski region. Each of the chefs will create a unique recipe by mixing flavours and traditions from their own regions and home countries, and their dish will feature on the menu for the whole winter season at one of the mountain huts on the slopes.

In addition there will be special culinary events throughout the season. On the line up there’s a Gourmet Skisafari on 11 December; Sommeliers on the Slopes offering wine tasting with some of the most refined wines of South Tyrol on 9 & 26 January, 9. & 16 Februyary and 9 & 16 March 2017; plus ethical chef days from 22 – 25 January when some of the world’s leading chefs, winemakers and food professionals from the five continents will meet in Alta Badia to share and discuss a common vision of an innovative, ethical and sustainable approach to gastronomy.  Other planned events include a celebration of the local Ladin gastronomy and a wine themed ski safari, both in March 2017.
