This is the Switzerland Snow Report for the week leading up to the 18th November. More and more ski areas have been opening in Switzerland, some of them encouraged by the snowy weather since November 4th, which has seen several feet of fresh snow fall on higher peaks, and snow down to lower elevations too.
Verbier and Andermatt (top) are amongst the latest areas to open, joining Laax (below) and Davos which opened last weekend. Most of these areas will be open weekend only until opening daily from the end of November.
Swiss ski areas open since October, where there’s been powder skiing on their glaciers this past week, include Europe’s highest slopes at Zermatt (above Laax image), neighbouring Saas Fee and Glacier 3000 near Gstaad and Les Diablerets. There slopes are also open above Engelberg and on the Diavolezza glacier near St Moritz.
