If you’re looking for a family-friendly adventure this summer, look no further than Cairngorm Mountain Resort. The resort is launching new and exciting activities for all ages and abilities, including mountain biking trails, guided walks to the summit, and mountain tubing.
You can explore the stunning scenery of Cairngorm Mountain on two wheels, with the new bike park opening soon. Whether you’re a beginner or an intermediate rider, you’ll find a trail that suits you. You can hire a bike on-site or bring your own and use the bike storage. The magic carpets will whisk you to the top of the trails, where you can enjoy the views and the thrill of riding down. The bike park is part of the resort’s long-term vision to transform Cairngorm Mountain into a year-round destination.
If you prefer to walk, you can join a guided walk to the summit of Cairn Gorm, the sixth-highest mountain in the British Isles. You’ll be accompanied by an experienced ranger who will show you the amazing flora and fauna of the mountain and tell you about its history. The walk takes about 90 minutes from the Top Station and is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
For a more laid-back activity, you can try mountain tubing at Cairngorm Mountain. This is a fun and safe way to slide down the slopes on a rubber ring. You can choose from three different slides, depending on your age and courage. The Spindrift and Cliffhanger slides are fast and furious, while the Snowflake slide is gentle and relaxing. You can book a 30-minute session online or on-site, and enjoy the spectacular views over Loch Morlich and the Spey Valley. The Cairngorm Mountain Railway will also be running throughout the summer, giving you a chance to experience the highest railway in Britain.
The Ptarmigan building at the Top Station invites you to dine at the UK’s highest restaurant, enjoy breathtaking views from the platform, explore the wonders of the mountain in the immersive exhibition space and unleash your creativity in the Learning Zone with interactive 3D sandboxes. The shop at the Top Station also offers a variety of unique gifts, clothing and local artisan products to take home. Whether you want to ride a bike, walk to the summit, slide down a tube or learn from environmental rangers, you can experience the mountain in your own way. The resort, owned by HIE and operated by the Cairngorm Mountain team, welcomes everyone in every season with the railway that takes you to the heart of nature.
