The La Folie Douce group that began at one iconic location in Val d’Isère but now extends to cabaret bars, restaurants, hotels and shops in leading resorts across the French Alps, is a favoured spot for lunch for many skiers.

The atmosphere is go good that many don’t really get back on the slopes after the lunch spot, ending up dancing and drinking the afternoon away instead.

But La Folie Douce was always based on supplying great food, locally sourced, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise that in relaunching their First Tracks programme after a  two-year break this winter, Méribel in the 3 Valleys is starting things off with a nutrient-packed breakfast at their outlet of La Folie Douce.

Early risers can grab the first run of the day, starting with that La Folie Douce breakfast before hitting the slopes in the Saulire area.

“First Tracks sessions offer a great way to beat the crowds, starting the day on untracked pistes in the fresh mountain air while the rest of the resort sleeps,” a resort spokesperson said.
