The sport of snow kiting – similar to kite surfing, which made its Olympic debut at the recent Paris Games – but on snow, is a sport growing in popularity, particularly in France, where a number of resorts offer first timers the chance to give it a try.
Serre-Chevalier Vallée in the southern French Alps is one of the main centres for the sport and has hosted the crème-de-la-crème of the sport competing at the top level on its Col du Lautaret terrain, which offers some of the best conditions anywhere for enjoying ity.
From Thursday January 9 to Sunday January 12, 2025, the Col du Lautaret will see the Snowkite Masters return to Serre Chevalier.
On the four-day program there’ll be freestyle snowkiting competitions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, followed by a thrilling Master race on Sunday.
