The Snow & Rock chain of stores has been sold by former owners LGV Capital to the AS Adventure Group company, currently owned by the Paris-based PAI Partners, which already also owns Cotswold Outdoor stores.
The AS Adventure Group have said that Snow & Rock will continue to operate as normal following their take over and that its snowsports, biking and running focus would enhance the existing lines it carries at its Cotswold Outdoor stores
“The AS Adventure Group will work with Snow & Rock, alongside its existing Cotswold Outdoor brand (will) …become the largest outdoor retailer in the UK with a combined turnover of £210m,” said a statement issued by the company, which continued,
“The AS Adventure Group will in turn cement its position as the leading outdoor retailer in Europe with a turnover of €550m.”
Snow+Rock opened their first store on Kensington High Street in 1982, and has since grown to have 22 stores nationwide, including two real snow venues. The company was acquired in a management buy out in 2010. The company also owns specialist bike store Cycle Surgery and running specialists Runners Need.
