There’s been more than two feet (60cm) of snow at several top ski areas in the Swiss Alps over the past week with much of the snow falling in the past 48 hours.

Gstaad, Verbier and the Portes du Soleil have all reported these big snowfalls and if forecasts are correct this is just the start of ongoing big snowfalls in Switzerland over the coming week which could leave March the snowiest month of the 2016-17 season.
We've got some fresh snow! ❄❄❄ So get out and stay out … #skiingislife #powderday #matterhornparadise

Gstaad also has the deepest snowbase in the country at 4.5m (15 feet) on upper runs – almost double its nearest competitor and the third biggest in the world behind Squaw Valley and Mammoth in California amongst leading resorts.
Snow depths are fairly good across Switzerland with 20-80cm at resort level at most areas and 1-2.5m on upper slopes.
