Crystal, the UK’s largest ski holiday company, are launching a new programme called ‘Slopercise’ in conjunction with David Lloyd health clubs, aiming to ensure skiers are slope-fit.

The programme is available online, or you can take part in classes at the London Ski Show this week or in selected David Lloyd health clubs across the UK from next week.

“Whether you go every year or are planning your first trip, being in peak condition to meet the demands of the slopes is essential. However, even just one day of skiing or snowboarding can result in stiffness and muscle strains – meaning losing valuable time on the slopes,” a company statement reads.

With nearly 200,000 winter worshippers travelling with Crystal Ski Holidays annually, the ski holiday operator estimates that at least the same amount of days are missed pursuing what skiers love most due to unwanted aches and pains.

Crystal describe their new ‘Slopercise’ as a, “fun, easy to follow three step exercise plan.”

Step 1…

Exercises, inspired by a variety of ski moves, include the ‘Mogul Ski Hop’, ‘Powder Snow Pole Pull’ and ‘Après-Ski Stein Squat’ to name but a few.

“If followed on a regular basis, Slopercise will help tighten and tone even the most resistant muscle groups,” the company statement continues.

The Slopercise exercise plan can be viewed for free via Crystal’s YouTube channel and visitors to the Ski Show at Battersea Park from today to Sunday (26 – 29 October) can take part in free live classes staged at 1pm on Thursday; 1.30pm and 3pm on Friday; noon and 2pm on Saturday or 2.30 and 4.30pm on Sunday.

Step 2…

David Lloyd Clubs’ members can also take advantage of Synrgy 360 Slopercise classes, available at selected clubs across the country as of 30 October.

The class is designed to prepare your body in advance for the demands of the winter slopes with an intense workout reducing injury risk and improving endurance on-piste. The sessions focus on improving leg symmetry for balance and control, flexibility around the ankle and hip joints for fluid movement, mid-line stability for stronger landings and lower body power and endurance.

There will be three classes for all the family to enjoy fun and functional winter holiday prep; Synrgy 360 Slopercise for adults and teens aged 14+, Synrgy 360 Slopercise for 11-15’s, Synrgy 360 Slopercise Family for adults and kids aged 8+.
