SkiStar, the largest ski area operator in Scandinavia, which operates six ski areas in Norway, Sweden and Austria is offering savings of around 10% on the cost of a lift ticket when skiers and boarders planning to visit one of their resorts, join their ‘MySkiStar’ loyalty programme and buy their pass online before November 15th, 2017
SkiStar’s resorts include Are, Vemdalen and Salen in Sweden and Trysil and Hemsedal in Norway, as well as St Johann in Tirol in Austria.
In addition, when you buy a SkiPass valid for 3 days or more and connect it to SkiStar’s loyalty scheme ‘MySkiStar’ you receive free wifi in resort and a 20% discount on ski care (waxing and/or grinding) at a SkiStarshop.
When you buy a weekly pass that lasts 6-8 days or longer and connect it to your profile you receive a free day pass valid at any Scandinavian SkiStar destination during the season (if your original booking was at St Johann this can be any of SkiStar’s Scandinavian resorts. If it was one of the Scandinavian resorts it has to be one of the other four, and not St Johann).
Child discounts which used to run until age 16, now continue to age 18.
Skistar is also offering a season pass valid at all six of its destinations in three countries called ‘SkiStar All’ which is priced at 553 Euros for an adult when bought before 15th October 2017, a 125% saving on the 650 Euros price if purchased after that date.
Last winter once again the company reported the best results in its history. The number of skier days (one day’s skiing with a SkiPass) in all of the company’s resorts totalled 5.1 million, which was unchanged from the previous year and overnight stays decreased by nearly 4 percent compared with the previous year to 505,000.
However, in line with reports by several other larger multi0-ski-resort operating businesses around the world, SkiStar saw revenue for its third quarter, which covers the ski season, at SEK 858 (678) million, an increase of SEK 180 million (26 percent) compared with the previous year.
Bookings for the next winter season are currently reported to be 14 percent higher than at the same point in the previous year.
