It has been snowing in Switzerland and hopefully it’s just the start.
15cm of fresh snow was reported by Gstaad with 10cm falls in Champery, Engelberg and Laax on Friday 24th February, but forecasters are expecting up to a metre of snow to arrive on swiss slopes over the next week – if it all plays out as they expect.

The snow will be particularly welcome at lower elevation resorts where cover was starting to get a little thin after a week of sunny weather, with temperatures often well above freezing at resorts below 1500m.
Most Swiss resorts still have 20-40cm of snow cover down at resort level though and 1 to 1.5m up top. Gstaad though is way ahead of other Swiss areas on that upper stat with 3.7m lying.
