It has started snowing again in the French Alps after a dry fortnight.
On Friday, February 24th resorts across the country reported 5-10cm of fresh snow. More is forecast through the weekend and (potentially) heavier snow still next week, although forecasts are too far off to be certain on that so far.

Prior to the fresh snow it had been largely dry and sunny and sometimes rather too warm at lower elevations, but generally excellent on the groomed piste, although with little or no powder left to be found off the groomed runs.

Most resorts still have good (20-80cm) bases on lower runs and 1-2m on upper slopes so cover remains fine. A number of areas including Bonneval, Montgenevre and Valfrejus actually have more than 2.5m of snow lying on their higher runs.
