France is unique among the big four Alpine ski nations in Europe in having no lift-served snowboards available for most of May and the first half of June, before the summer ski season starts at Les 2 Alpes, Val d’Isere and Tignes.
That’s assuming you don’t include the indoor skiing at Amneville in the North East of the country up near the Belgium border. It does have a 620m long slope, one of the world’s two longest.
Quite a few French resorts did stay open up to the start of June and were rewarded by fresh snowfall in the last week of the season. Val Thorens, the country and Europe’s highest resort, was rewarded with plenty of the white stuff (Pic above, pic top was before the snow started) and this video shows Montgenevre getting 30cm (a foot) of fresh snow on April 26th.

But only Tignes is staying open for the first week of May, it too has had fresh snow and has a 1.5m/5 foot base for the start of May.
