More ski areas have announced plans to open early, this coming weekend, with Italy’s Val Gardena and France’s Avoriaz saying they’ll be opening on Saturday.
Italy’s Val Gardena will have a ‘pre-opening’ on Saturday December 2nd.
The Dantercepies area above Selva in Val Gardena (below) will begin 23-24 season operations with a gondola and two ski lifts running, providing access to around 50km of slopes.
The full Val Gardena valley/region is planning to open on 5th December with 180km slopes and links to the Sella Ronda – immediately making it one of the largest open areas so far.
Avoriaz have also announced a partial opening of their terrain a fortnight earlier than planned thanks to all the early snowfall, on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December 2023.
The resort’s Arare and Chavanette sectors will open with access to the slopes via the Prodains cable car and a discounted lift pass rate of 21€ per day and 40€ for the full week-end.
Over 50 ski areas are already open in the Europe and around 100 more already planned to open this weekend.
