Swiss ski resorts are the latest to announce they are closing immediately due to government advice on the fight against the coronavirus.
“After such a beautiful first part of the season and a second one which looked very promising due to the fabulous snow conditions, we are all very sad and sorry about this outcome. However, in view of the evolution of this pandemic, we must respect and apply without restraint the decisions of our authorities to solve this public health problem,” a statement from the 4 Valleys reads.
Some resorts like Verbier have announced they are closing immediately whilst other like Davos and Laax say they’ll stay open this weekend but close at the end of Sunday skiing.
Andermatt says it is still analyzing the government advice and will make a decision later.
Zermatt, which is open for snowsports year round, says its closure will be until at least April 30th.
