Max Laughland, a promising young ski racer sponsored by holiday company VIP SKI, encountered a setback last week during training as he suffered a broken collarbone and hand.
Before this setback, Laughland had recently achieved a significant milestone by securing spots in four events for the GB Team in the Junior World Championships, which commenced last week. The timing of his injury underscores the cruel nature of sports, as Laughland was in peak form, consistently placing on the podium in FIS races across Europe this winter.
Following his release from the hospital in Val Gardena, Laughland underwent a successful operation and remains determined to return to racing before April’s end.
To support his recovery and aid GB Skiing, VIP SKI is auctioning two seven-night stays at Bear Lodge, with all proceeds directed to Max’s Winter Sports Foundation. Money raised will help towards medical, kit, training, transport and accommodation costs as Max gets off the operating table, back onto the hill and focuses once again on races at events across Europe with the goal of qualifying once again for the 2025 World Junior Championships. Last year, nearly £4000 was raised through similar efforts.
Fancy a week at the Lodge and supporting GB Ski Racing at the same time?
The auction offers a chance to contribute to Laughland’s cause while enjoying a luxurious week at Bear Lodge, nestled in the heart of Arc 1950. The package includes accommodations for two people, meals, and various amenities.
“Nestled at the heart of VIP SKI’s picturesque piste-side resort in Arc 1950, Bear Lodge exudes charm and convenience. Boasting only 30 bedrooms, it sits right on the piste, offering unparalleled access to the slopes and chairlifts. Guests can unwind in its spacious lounge, enjoy drinks at the bar, and indulge in delectable dining experiences. The pool complex beckons with its sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi, while massage suites, an exercise room, and a cinema cater to every need. Families will delight in the kids’ playroom, and skiers will appreciate the ski room complete with lockers and boot warmers,” VIP SKI say.
A leisurely stroll across the piste reveals the magical traffic-free village of Arc 1950, where shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants await.
