Austria has been seeing snowy weather for a fortnight now after the dry December and conditions look pretty good pretty well everywhere across the country thanks to it all – some resorts have seen as much as two metres over the two weeks.
So most ski areas that had little snow down in resort now have 30-50cm on their lower slopes and any have a metre or more on upper runs.
Here’s Ischgl, looking nice. Picture top and from Zell am See, below from Lech.
Perfekte Pisten, traumhaftes Wetter… Snowupdate aus Ischgl ☀?

The glacier ski areas as usual are reporting the best snow depths and having sunk down to around the metre mark a fortnight ago, they’re now back up to double that at resorts like Hintertux and Solden.
Generally the weather is now cold and dry so snowmaking systems are working and not much is thawing meaning there are good conditions almost across the country. Only the south eastern corner and the Carinthia region is suffering with very little natural snowfall but here snowmaking means resorts like Bad Kleinkirchheim have been able to open almost all their runs anyway.
