Scottish Ski Season Ends Sunday – £20 Weekend Ticket

Scotland’s last ski area still opening for the 2015-16 ski season says this Sunday will be the last of the season, and to try to encourage attendances they’ve slashed more than two thirds off the cost of a weekend ticket, charging £20 instead of £65.50.  If you only ski on one day it looks to be £20 instead of £35 – almost half price.

Cairngorm has been closed during the past week – during which still more fresh snow has fallen – but says this weekend (7-8 May) they will be open for the last weekend of the season.

The centre’s Ptarmigan Restaurant won’t be open over the weekend but there will still be access to the toilets and customers will be able to grab a sandwich, bottle of juice and snack bar for £5 inside the Top Station. There will also be a Pie & Pint for £5 offer in The Storehouse over the weekend with a selection of chilli, steak or macaroni pies.

Scotland’s season started late this year – four months ago in early January, after a warm, wet and windy end to 2015.  But stable conditions in February led to good business in the school holidays period and whilst Easter was too warm for several easterly ski areas to maintain snow cover, late April saw a belated return to cold and snowy conditions.
