A new Chamonix-based company has been launched offering academic coaching and revision courses for teenagers working towards their  GCSE, iGCSE and common entrance Mathematics exams.

Study and Ski courses will be delivered for hald a day each day of the holiday by the company’s director and experienced maths teacher and examiner Abina Wheeler. The rest of the day the child can go skiing.

The courses will run over the Christmas, February half-term and Easter school holidays. Each week will involve 20 hours of teaching, with half a day spent in the class-room, and the rest of the day available for skiing or boarding. Groups will be a maximum of six and costs £700 (course only).

“After teaching at an international school in Geneva and delivering private tutoring in Chamonix over the past five years, I realised there was a real demand for intensive tutoring over the school holidays in Chamonix,” said Abina Wheeler, who added,  “Many families want to take their children on a ski holiday, but don’t want to jeopardise their academic success in exams. ‘Study and Ski’ allows families to carry on skiing, whilst at the same time benefiting from expert and focused revision sessions.”

For these needing accommodation Study and Ski have teamed up with chalet tour operator Marmotte Mountain to offer catered or self-catered accommodation next to the Grand Montets ski area during the courses.  .

Course weeks run from 16th and 23rd December 2016, then 30th  January, 12th February or 2nd and 9th April 2017.
