The annual downhill Cheese-Rolling contest staged each Spring Bank Holiday in Gloucestershire, England, is well known in the UK.
In New Zealand though a similar competition takes place over snow in September instead, as the ski season nears its end.
The annual Barry’s Bay Cheese rolling contest took place at New Zealand’s Broken River ski area this weekend.
There was a big turn out with record numbers, including 40 in the Adults section.
“Hilarious fun for everyone. Great to be able to support a worthy cause with Protect Our Winters New Zealand through our registration proceeds. Huge thanks to our awesome sponsors Barry’s Bay Cheese. We love your cheese,” a spokesperson for Broken River commented.
