Introducing the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn – the ultimate Austrian freeride ski area. One of the largest ski areas in Austria, the Skicircus boasts 270km of slopes, as well as an extensive range of thrilling activities, international flair and breathtaking natural landscapes. Yet it’s the infinite freeride spots that really make this area stand out.
Freeriding at its finest
In merging Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang with the Tirolean resort of Fieberbrunn, the area has created an absolute freeride Mecca, fulfilling every dream of skiing enthusiasts. Here, freeriding means a lot more than just leaving fresh tracks in deep, pristine snow. Freeride signifies the feeling of freedom discovering countless powder runs in the great outdoors, the silence that is only broken by the sound of the snow beneath your skis. The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn makes finding this bliss incredibly easy, with Freeride Park, numerous ski routes of varying degrees of difficulty, diverse Check Rooms (info points), avalanche transceiver fields and much, much more.
THREE Towns with a Common Ground
The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn comprises three connected towns: Saalbach Hinterglemm, Saalfelden Leogang and Fieberbrunn. Together, these towns make up one of the largest ski regions in Austria, but apart, they are all wonderfully diverse, creating a unique, varied ski experience and attracting visitors from all across the world. Perhaps the most well known of the three, Saalbach Hinterglemm is as renowned for its incredible mountain scenery as it is for its energetic events and legendary Austrian après-ski. Saalfelden Leogang, on the other hand, is a calmer village, giving visitors a tranquil destination in which to relax and rejuvenate, with a range of sports activities and cultural highlights available to entertain.
Last but by no means least, Fieberbrunn is the smallest destination in the Skicircus, intended for those looking to truly leave the stresses of modern life behind. It’s definitely the place to be when fresh snow falls. “Easy up – Wild down” is their motto and it’s clear to see why. In Fieberbrunn, it’s all about having fun, taking on some of the most incredible terrain on the slopes before sitting back and enjoying the relaxing nature of life down in the town. The youngest town in the Skicircus and a freeride hotspot at the centre of the Kitzbüheler Alps, it’s no surprise this resort has proved incredibly popular, with its deep virgin snow, sunny slopes and easy-going atmosphere.
Across the ski area, freeride routes are available at all levels of difficulty, and dedicated freeride parks can be found at the Lärchfilzkogel in Fieberbrunn and the Asitzmuldenbahn lift in Leogang. In these designated areas, created primarily for those who enjoy freeride and freestyle, various obstacles have been integrated into the natural terrain. If you like your kickers with a side of deep snow, you’re going to have a lot of fun here. The area even hosts top events such as the Freeride World Tour – if it’s good enough for the crème de la crème of freeride skiing, it’s good enough for us!
Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn also offers a number of freeride teaching and guiding options for all abilities, from experts who want to find the best terrain to beginners keen to learn more about the world of powder. Indeed, for the latter, it’s definitely best to dip your toe into freeriding with a certified guide, who will be able to fully brief you on mountain safety and avalanche awareness. With 70 lifts, over 60 cosy mountain huts and numerous snowparks, freeride parks, night skiing opportunities and toboggan runs, it’s one of the most diverse and entertaining ski areas in Austria.
