Australia’s ski centres have been celebrating a succession of snow storms which have brought up to 90cm (three feet) of snow to the countries ski slopes.
Falls Creek, pictured here, has posted repeat powder days over the past week and it, like other Aussie areas, is rapidly expanding the amount of terrain it has open.
“It’s been a massive week of snowfalls here at Falls Creek, thanks to a large snowstorm that hung around from Thursday to Monday. In the last 7 days, we’ve recorded 90cm of fresh snow, with our average snow depth now sitting at nearly one metre!” said Betony Pitcher, Marketing Manager at Falls Creek.
Other Australian ski areas have had similarly good news for snowfall and have been opening more terrain. Perisher, the country’s largest area, has already opened all four of its ski mountains.
