From the road that takes you to the snow-drenched resort, to the tip of the highest mountain, every moment and experience in Whistler is epic!
Nestled in the stunning coast mountain range, you’d be hard pushed to find a more picturesque mountain village in North America. At the heart of the resort the cafes, bars, restaurants and après fun are just as well known as the outstanding slopes on the two striking mountains overlooking the village. Yes, in Whistler you don’t just get the one mountain to enjoy, there’s two! And they’re both handily linked by the Peak-2-Peak Gondola which is worth the trip to Whistler in itself.
Both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain have pistes suitable for everyone, from absolute beginners to skiers who love a challenge and everyone in between. From our own experience, the soft, fluffy Whistler snow is perfect for every level, from those learning to snowplough to an intermediate who wants the best snow to perfect those parallel turns on, up to those that just want to ski for miles on the very best terrain. For a more extreme way of getting to the top of the mountain than a good old chairlift, heli-skiing and cat skiing are two of the most popular options.
Back on the solid ground of the Village, the range of restaurants and bars leaves you spoilt for choice for where to enjoy your evening. The whole village is pedestrianised which is fantastic for families and kids can enjoy the freedom to explore the snowy, fairy-light lit wonderland. You’ll want to stop by the Olympic Plaza to pose alongside the Olympic rings, skate on the ice rink or enjoy hot chocolate. For little kids and big kids, the Blackcomb Tube Park is a must visit! We’ve spent many a fun-filled hour whizzing down the slopes in the inflatable rings. And if it all becomes too much, most of the hotels in Whistler have wonderful heated pools, and relaxing hot tubs but for the ultimate relaxation treat, the Scandinave Spa, a short distance outside the village, is sheer bliss. Think, the steamiest steam rooms, the coldest plunge pools and fire pits to relax around, all outside surrounded by the forest with the snow falling from the sky.
With everything combined, a winter holiday doesn’t get much better than this!
