Where To Camp?

Although we tend to think of camping by the beach or in very rural locations, many towns and cities also have camp sites hidden away somewhere that can be a much more affordable way to visit a city than paying for a hotel or even a B&B.

For example here’s a Time Out guide to 13 camp sites near London.

Guides and organisations that offer camp site listings include:

Campsites Online which lists over 3,000 caravan and campsites across all England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

PitchUp.com with information and reviews of over 8,500 holiday parks and campsites in the UK, Europe and the Americas.

The Youth Hostel Association often allow camping next to their hostels and even have some of their own ‘glamping pods’ to rent.

CoolCamping.com claims to have listings of ‘the best’ camping and glamping sites in the UK and EU.

The Camping and Caravan Club.

The National Trust

CampingInfo.org is another good source of information.
