By train, plane or road, Serre Chevalier Vallée, in the French Alps, is accessible by whichever method you prefer. The reward for British skiers and boarders who visit this gem of a resort is 410hectares of groomed tree-lined slopes at perfect altitudes between 1200-2800m, which can be skied this season from €218*pp per week – that includes self-catering accommodation (based on four people sharing) and a six-day ski pass !

If you’re already looking beyond the Christmas decorations coming down you’ll be pleased to hear our calendar of events is as bustling as ever. January sees classic cars taking pride of place starting with the DAF car race 9-10 January and ending with the Winter Sprint Race 30-31 January with more in between! Also amongst the season highlights is the world-famous Snowkite Masters competition 9-15th January, jazz festival 22 January – 6 February and of course the Skolf competition on the 12 March where golf on snow is played featuring three sets of three holes continuing into the evening with illuminated balls!

Serre Chevalier Vallée offers something really special for the Brits. Don’t just take our word for it…

Will Robson, Fall Line magazine, says: “Uncrowded slopes, epic tree runs, 1600m of vert and nary a queue? Count us in!”

Asbjørn Eggebø Naes, Fall Line magazine, says: “…the best skiing in Europe when it’s snowing.”

Felice Hardy, The Guardian, says: “…excellent skiing, friendly locals and reasonable prices. It’s home to the sort of restaurants you hope to find in a French ski resort but seldom do.”
