The beauty from Lenzerheide and the charmer from Arosa achieved fame through music, with the famous Swiss song by Ines Torelli about the charming ski teacher Gigi from Arosa. Now these fictional characters have a new life – as local tour guides.
The key to their reunion can be found about 2,500 m above sea level, where the spectacular Urdenbahn cable car connects Lenzerheide and Arosa. The literal high point can be found between the two mountain stations. Without a single pillar, the huge steel cable stretches over 1.7 kilometres from the Hörnli to the Urdenfürggli. Just under four minutes later, Switzerland’s fastest cable car reaches its destination and we’re in Heidi’s homeland. This place is her speciality. Heidi expertly guides through the varied pistes of Arosa Lenzerheide, where the world’s top skiers regularly compete for points and trophies. But in her company, even the most demanding World Cup slopes become a playful pleasure. Gigi and Heidi also come up trumps away from the slopes. They both know just where to find the best refreshments in Lenzerheide and Arosa after an eventful day. This is where new plans are made – and where people start to anticipate their next adventure in the snow.
The Arosa Lenzerheide ski resort persuades with 225 kilometres of prepared slopes, 43 lifts to your comfortable way up the mountain, many authentic alpine huts, and a record-breaking number of sunny days.
