Here, There & Everywhere … from Greenland to Switzerland

“I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a place so on the edge of where humans can survive,” says Seth Wescott in the latest Warren Miller film ‘Here, There & Everywhere.’

No, it’s not Meribel – double Olympic snowboard cross champion Seth and his long-time riding buddy Rob Kingwill are discovering a lifetime of untapped terrain on Kulusak Island, off the south-eastern corner of Greenland. In their words, it’s “isolated from one of the most isolated places on earth.”

There’s indescribable scenery, unbelievable powder – and the constant threat of polar bears.

Greenland isn’t the only far-flung place to feature in the film, which is touring the UK this January. Similarly epic, Morgan Hebert and Ryland Bell show off their backyard playground in Alaska. “You move away, growing up in a place like this, because you kind of want to experience the world,” drawls Ryland. “It’s the natural progression of things. But you gotta move back.”

We can see why he did. This is the ultimate definition of ski porn.

There’s action closer to home too. In Switzerland, big mountain pioneer Jess McMillan shows freeskier Grete Eliassen how it’s done. “I became a skier when I was a little girl because I didn’t want people telling me what to do,” says Jess. “It’s freedom. There are no rules. Especially here in Switzerland – you can go wherever you want.”

And the pair do just that, ripping it up on the mountains around Andermatt.

‘Here, There and Everywhere’ is the 67th annual Warren Miller ski film, and it’s touring the UK, starting in Cornwall on 9 January and finishing in Cumbria on 19 January. Perfect timing to get tickets for the snowsports lover in your life this Christmas.
