Avoriaz is a pedestrianised, unique resort in harmony with the mountains. Situated on the edge of a forest, at the foot of a granite cliff, Avoriaz is a high-altitude doorstep skiing resort ranging from 1,800 to 2,466 metres.

Adapted to suit all abilities, its ski runs wind through forests and valleys, from Arare to Lindarets, and from Prodain to Super Morzine. In the centre of Les Portes du Soleil ski area (12 resorts, 650 kilometres of runs), Avoriaz is at the heart of a vast ski run network and provides access to Switzerland via a range of itineraries including the Pas de Chavanette, which is renowned for its difficulty.

But it is also a destination for non-skiers who will love its beautiful natural landscapes and the charm of a resort where everyone gets around on foot, on skis, or in horse-drawn carriages, and where you won’t hear even the single rev of a car engine. Discover a new way to celebrate the landscape and enjoy the mountains.

The Snowpark Range

Named France’s 3rd best snowboarding resort in 2012, Avoriaz boasts an enviable range of snowparks. The legendary Arare park is aimed at expert and experienced freestylers who will love its superpipe and backcountry areas. Snowboarders and skiers of all abilities will enjoy La Chapelle snowpark, which offers rails and kick lines. Children also have their very own playground with the Lil’stash and the Kids Parkway, available to the over 3s. Finally, at the heart of vast untouched slopes, Le Stash is a unique area where parents and children can enjoy riding together.

Kids First : a small world

The Children’s Village welcomes 3-16 year-olds for an introduction to skiing and snowsports adapted to suit all ages.

Situated in the resort centre, the Children’s Village is a 5-hectare area reserved for children between the ages of 3 and 16 years, exclusively dedicated to ski teaching. A team of one hundred instructors is on hand to introduce youngsters to the joys of skiing and snowsports. Teaching methods are inspired by play and the joy of discovery, where each child progresses at their own individual pace, taking their age into account: after having fun on the snow, younger children go back indoors for a nap in the nursery area. Indoor activities (drawing, puppetry, modelling…) are also organised for those too young to ski all day. Snowboarding courses are available for older children. Gone are the days when you’d hear children whinging on the slopes, numb with cold and cursing ski holidays. Learning whilst enjoying yourself and having a range of fun experiences: that sums up the Children’s Village concept. It’s genius!

A Tropical Bubble

Unique in the mountains and France, the Aquariaz is an aqua-fun centre where the water is kept at a balmy 30°C…

Opened in 2012, Aquariaz is an aqua-fun centre akin to a tropical greenhouse, boasting luxurious vegetation that comprises more than 260 exotic species. Its paradisiacal décor is home to whirlpool bubble rooms, a lazy river, swimming pools, a large waterfall, a geyser, a water tree and a climbing wall on which you can swing from creeper to creeper, in an area that covers more than 2,400 square metres. In this light-bathed aqua jungle, you can delight in gliding, splashing around, jumping, diving and swimming. The cold and snow will be nothing but a distant memory…
