Andorra off to a Snowy Start

The start of the New Year has been very generous to us here in the Pyrenees, as we write we have had 72 hours of snowfall with much more on the forecast.

Andorra may be small but as it boasts an enormous 303km of pistes over the two areas of Grandvalira and Vallnord, this little gem is the place to ski this winter. Throughout December Andorra was one of the best places to ski in Europe with around 65% of slopes open in Grandvalira and 80% across Vallnord, equating to approximately 220km in total, with the fresh snow this week it’s only going to get better with plenty more slopes to ski on soon.

Andorra has a wide choice of resorts for everyone, whether it’s the main resorts such as lively Pas de la Casa, great for groups with its plentiful bars and restaurants, or family friendly Arinsal where the fantastic ski school specialise in group ski lessons designed especially for children as young as 4 years old. If it’s more of a relaxing atmosphere your after then quaint Soldeu with a large selection of 4* hotels and great spas might be the right choice, or perhaps one of the smaller resorts that Andorra offers, more information on the different resorts can be found on the Andorra Resorts website.
