5 Reasons to love skiing in Cervinia

We recently added the Italian resort of Cervinia to our programme and with 360km of piste to explore under the beautifully imposing Matterhorn, it’s already proving incredibly popular.

So here are our top 5 reasons for why we can’t recommend Cervinia enough.

It’s perfect for short ski breaks and ski weekends
Short breaks and ski weekends are a speciality of ours and Cervinia fits the bill perfectly. A short flight and 1 hour 30 minute transfer from Turin airport means travelling time is minimal and with all of our featured hotels within a five minute walk of the lifts, you’ll be on the slopes in no time.

It’s high
The village sits at 2050m and the ski area goes up to over 3400m making it a snow-sure resort. Because of the altitude it also means the season is a long one, often opening at the end of November and closing in May.

It’s great for all level of skier
With a good mix of blues and gentle reds, Cervinia is a snow-filled playground for beginners and intermediates. With a few steep runs and the ability to pop over to Zermatt on the International lift pass for something more challenging, it’s also great for experts.

It’s good value
Ski holidays in Cervinia are good value; hotels are generally inexpensive, prices in resort are cheap compared to the rest of the Alps.

It’s got an excellent selection of après bars
There’s something to suit everyone. Most of the bars are located around the main street, but there are also some good, cheap and cheerful places like the Ymeletrobe and Copa Pan tucked away down the side streets too.
After all those reasons to go to Cervinia, how could we resist the temptation of such a fantastic resort?
