After a slow start, the snow has finally started falling across Europe, so if you’ve been delaying booking your 2016 getaway – why wait any longer? Although on face value, the journey by train looks longer than a flight, when you start to factor in journey times to the airport, check in time, time spent waiting for luggage and ski gear on arrival and then the tedious transfer from the airport to the resort, you’d be surprised at how little there is in it. And it’s not just about the journey time – rail passengers can get up and move around, making a visit to the buffet car for a snack or drink.
