New on Chamonix’s slopes this winter !
A high-speed 4 seater detachable-grip chairlift in Les Houches will replace two drag lifts. Approximately 1200m in length, the chairlift will transport 2000 passengers/hour, opening an entirely new space to skiers in the Cha/Chamois sector.
A new mini-funicular at Brevent will allow beginner skiers and snowboarders easy access to the Planpraz plateau and the Téléski 2000 poma from the Planpraz gondola station.
Les Grands Montets get a new Snowsports Area, aptly named The Summit Cross which offers a variety of jumps, whoops and banked turns. It features one “BMW” 400m recreational route with video system and stopwatch, perfect for family souvenirs; and another 800m route that meets FIS standards for enthusiasts, ski clubs and competition.
The new Chamonix Snowpark, one of the biggest in Europe will be located on the Balme slopes. This 1000m long and 100m wide freestyle area will be situated to right of the “Téléski du Col” and accessed by a dedicated téléski and a 4 person chairlift. There will be several runs to cover various levels of skiers and snowboarders and a “Cool Zone” for relaxation, complete with sound-system !
