It was the same slope where just under a year ago Italian Ivan Origone became the fastest man ever on a pair of skis reaching 254.958 km/h.
Baronne, who once worked as stunt double for actors Sylvester Stallone and Jean-Claude Van Damme, has been breaking speed records on a bike on both volcanic ash and ski slopes having first achieved the world record on snow in 1994. He broke the record again in 1999 and again on 21 April 2000, when he reaches 222 kilometres per hour (138 mph) at Les Arcs.
