Skiers arriving at the famous Italian resort of Val Gardena this winter will find two new ski runs waiting for them, including a new black piste.

The new “La Ria” black run begins at the top station of the Dantercepies cable car and drops down the mountainside with a maximum incline of 52% and 310 metres of vertical drop.

The other new trail, Pilat, was formerly an off-piste route through a rocky forest from the Seiser Alm to Ortisei but has now been carefully prepared and developed to become a spectacular downhill slope cutting through woodland. The trail features plenty of bends and turns over it 4,760 metre length, dropping 778 vertical metres and offering unique views over the entirety of Val Gardena.

Pilat is part of an eight ski slope adventure itinerary connecting the famous Saslong World Cup downhill course as well as Cir, Ciampinoi N3, Bravo, Falk, Gardenissima and Longia for the ultimate badge of honour.

Skiing highlights in Val Gardena this winter will include the FIS World Alpine Ski Cup in town on the 16th – 17th January 2023, a Spring Ski Race from Seceda to Ortisei on 25th March 2023 and the huge  “Gardenissima” Kids ski race day on 1st April 2023.
