Serre Chevalier in the Southern French Alps will benefit from a new high-speed detachable six-seater chairlift that will be installed this summer ready to operate next winter 2018-19.

The new Côte Chevalier chairlift will be built by POMA and feature their DirectDrive motor, replacing two existing surface and fixed chairlifts.  The new lift will connect two major sectors of the ski area.

“With its 106 six-seater chairs and a transport capacity of 3,000 passengers per hour, it will bring high-performance to this area and guests will enjoy increased accessibility, fluidity, and safety,” saiud a spokesperson from the ski area’s operating company, The Compagnie des Alpes.

The new lift is one of five being installed by the company this summer along with others at Val d’Isère, Tignes, Méribel and La Plagne as part of a €38 million contract with POMA.
