A problem faced by all Scottish ski centres is that when the snow is abundant they’re swamped with customers, when it doesn’t arrive, they’re empty, making maintain staff levels something of an art form.
Nevis Range is tackling one result of this situation, peak time queues for equipment rental, by completely revamping their snow sports hire facility this winter, with the building capacity doubling – allowing a much more efficient service and some more kit. The ski school booking office is also moving into ski hire (with a separate entrance) meaning that ski school customers will only have to queue once. Some peak team gear rental queues were the only delays there last winter, so 2010-11 should be completely seamless.
