15 skiers and snowboarders have just spent three days in Chamonix taking part in Monster Ski 2014 raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust.
In association with tour operator Ski Independence, the 15 have to skied or snowboarded the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest, every day for each of the three days running.
So over the course of the three days, participants skied 30,000 vertical feet a day to achieve a total of over 90,000 vertical feet.
Before this year’s challenge, 64 people had taken part in Monster Ski for the MS Trust, raising over £385,000 to support their work. So far in 2014 the group has raised over £16,000 for the MS Trust.
“It was the best experience ever. My advice is just do it,” said Monster Ski participant Sam, “Any anxieties you might have about it will soon disappear when you are smashing it at 50mph down a ski slope with some amazing people and new friends.”
The MS Trust is a UK charity, providing information for anyone affected by multiple sclerosis, education programmes for health professionals, funding for practical research and campaigning for specialist multiple sclerosis services. Their vision is to enable people with MS to live their lives to the full.
