The short period when it is possible to ski or snowboard under the midnight sun has got underway in northern Sweden.
Riksgränsen, located 200km north of the Arctic Circle, has a three month ski season from March to May each season, opening when there’s enough daylight at its latitude to be able to operate.
By early May though 24-hour daylight has arrived and a short season begins when the rest re-opens its ski lifts and runs in the late evening though to the early hours for the novelty of skiing under the midnight sun.
Midnight sun operations will be offered between 22:00-00:30 between on Thursdays and Sundays from now until 25th May, weather permitting.
