The ESF ski school in Méribel has announced that it will be running a series of masterclasses for skiers of all ability levels this coming January.
The Masterclasses will be managed by David Lindsay, who established the ESF Section Internationale in the 1980s. David (pictured below) is the son of Peter Lindsay who first established then grew Méribel from the 1930s.
Hosted by a small team of top ESF coaches, Masterclasses will be run in English with a maximum of six per group, and will provide skiers with the full array of drills, techniques and tips including fundamental technical exercises, biomechanics, balance and angulation drills, video analysis and timed slalom.
The masterclasses will also include an introduction to CARV, the new intelligent ski boot insole that feeds back data on your performance in real time. Top classes will also do advanced carving techniques, racing techniques, mogul skiing and off-piste.
“The focus will be on enabling skiers to achieve their personal goals while enjoying their skiing in an exciting atmosphere, taking full advantage of the paradise which is the Three Valleys,” said David.
The ESF Masterclasses will run weekly for four weeks from Sunday, January 7th 2024 and have been designed to cater to all skill levels from a basic skier eager to improve to an expert skier intent on reaching new objectives.
The Méribel ESF is one of largest ski-schools in France, and by far the largest ski-school in the Méribel valley, with 375 fully qualified instructors. The ESF caters for toddlers upwards. The children’s programme is well known for its “stars” system and now offers “TOP SIX” classes limited to six children per class (book early).
